Voyage of the Hōkūleʻa

We thought we'd visit the Hanalei pier on a weekday, but were surprised to see a huge crowd gathered there today. There is a Hawaiian sailboat that is finishing up an around the world trip with a stop here before heading back to Oahu tomorrow.

Interesting story of conservation, education and using ancient navigational tools. Although we did see an array of solar panels on the stern.

Poipu area

More boring 😜 scenery from the south shore. This is next to a boat launch ramp near the resorts of Poipu.
